Prepare URLs and images for a WordPress redesign

A redesign can change page paths and how images are served. Make these two decisions separately before installing a tool. Novelience offers a validated redirect map and a connector for imgproxy infrastructure that you operate. Choose according to the work your migration actually involves.

You are renaming pages on the same host

Redirect Map Manager imports a CSV, rejects loops and conflicts, and records changes. Hypothetical example: an old product page changes path during a redesign on the same host. An explicit map makes its destination reviewable. Each accepted import replaces the entire map, so export the previous state and back up the database first.

You already operate imgproxy

The imgproxy Media Connector assigns named profiles to WordPress image sizes: dimensions, mode, format and quality. Successfully replicated images use signed URLs while local files are retained. You supply, configure and monitor S3-compatible storage and an imgproxy server; their operation remains part of your infrastructure.

Your project needs both workstreams

Choose the modules individually and test each workflow in your environment. Redirect exports for Nginx or Apache require validation before deployment. The image connector does not edit your URL map, and the tools do not automatically coordinate the migration for you.

Check the constraints before choosing

WordPress 6.3+ and PHP 7.4+ are required. Redirects needs InnoDB and the same complete host, allowing the www variant. imgproxy requires network access and matching keys. For an image already replicated, a remote outage does not automatically restore the local URL.

Can this map migrate to another domain?

Targets on another complete host are rejected. Plan a separate strategy for a domain change.

Is image hosting included?

The subscription provides the connector. You arrange storage, imgproxy and their costs with your chosen operators.
